Mother scolds, boy ends life

In a shocking incident, a Class X student hanged self after his mother reprimanded him for his lackadaisical approach to academics.

The incident occurred in Vinoba Nagar of Godavarikhani on Saturday.

According to the police, Prashanth, a student of Timmapur in Manakondur mandal of Karimnagar district who has passed Standard IX and entered Std X, was reprimanded by his mother for not returning home after a week’s vacation in Godavarikhani. She scolded him for attending the advanced coaching for Class X students. Upset over her chiding, he locked himself in a room and hanged self.

The police have registered a case.
