Hyderabad: Requesting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reveal the names of persons, who declared their unaccounted money under the just-concluded Income Declaration Scheme (IDS), YSRCP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday wrote a letter to the Centre. He also sought an inquiry into the corruption of Chandrababu Naidu.

CBDT says it wouldn’t reveal the names of declarants or region-wise declarations as well. But, AP Chief Minister and other leaders were passing unsubstantiated and unverifiable comments. Naidu being an NDA ally, is publicly saying that a person from Telugu states declared Rs10,000 crore unaccounted income. How did Naidu source this information? If Naidu’s statement is true, then declarant must be his benami. Being citizens from AP, we’re are also interested to know the identity of the person.

In his letter, YS Jagan asked as to "how AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu came to know of details of income declared in the IDS. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has clarified that names of those who declared their unaccounted income wouldn't be revealed, but how did Naidu get the details? Hence, the declarant must be Naidu's benami. I request Prime Minister Modi to reveal the names of persons who declared their income under the IDS."

YS Jagan has brought the comments made by Naidu after IDS-2016 to the Prime Minister's notice. CBDT says it wouldn't reveal the names of declarants or region-wise declarations as well. Referring to the NCAER survey that rated Andhra Pradesh as the most corrupt State in the country, YS Jagan said “so far no action is taken after we presented a book on Naidu’s corrupt practices highlighting the Rs1.5 lakh crore scam in AP during the past two-and-a-half-years. We expected investigation by the Centre, but unfortunately it’s not taking place. That’s why Naidu is so confident that no one in the country can take up investigation against him.”
