YS Jagan dares Chandrababu for a debate on power tariff hike

YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday challenged Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu to come for an open public debate on the power tariff calculations.

Speaking on the proposed power tariff hike in the Assembly, YS Jagan said that he was ready to discuss the power tariff hike issue and challenged that will Chandrababu resign if his calculations on the power tariff were proved wrong.
Strongly opposing the Government's proposal for a tariff hike, the YSRCP chief said that power charges were not hiked for about six years when YS Rajasekhara Reddy was at the helm.
He also recalled that YSR had cancelled the arrears with retrospective effect too but Chandrababu has collected the arrears.
" Kiran Kumar Reddy hiked the tariff, but why did Chandrababu help him and why did he save his Government? Why the Government is increasing the tariff when the coal rates have come down from 102 dollars to 60 dollars," he asked.
He further asked the Government that why should there be a hike when the Centre is giving additional power to the state.
