With Haul of 38 Medals, Telangana Police Lead the Pack in Independence Day Awards List

Hyderabad: The Telangana State police department has bagged a record haul of medals numbering 38 on the eve of Independence Day. Telangana has received the two President’s Police Medals for Gallantry (PPMG), one President’s Vishishta Seva medal, 11 medals for Gallantry and 24 meritorious seva medals. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhara Rao has congratulated all the medal winners.

Sub-Inspector Duddekula Siddaiah and Constable Chougoni Nagaraju, who lost their lives in an attempt to catch two operatives of Students’ Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) in Nalgonda district in 2015, were announced as the recipients of the PPMG on Sunday. The two policemen would be honoured with PPMG posthumously. Counter Intelligence Cell SP Rajesh Kumar has been awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry.

Sub-Inspector Duddekula Siddaiah and Constable Chougoni Nagaraju, who lost their lives in an attempt to catch two operatives of Students’ Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) in Nalgonda district in 2015, were announced as the recipients of the PPMG.

Telangana also got a President’s Police Medal for distinguished service to Fire Services Director General Rajiv Ratan. The Police Medal for meritorious service was announced for 11 police personnel.

Telangana is the only State unit to secure the President’s police medal for gallantry (PPMG). The other units to receive the award this year were Central Reserve Police Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, and the Intelligence Bureau.

Names of other recipients are: Additional Superintendent of Police Mutakoduru Chandra Shekar, Inspectors Kaitha Ravinder Reddy, Annareddy Chinna Bala Gangi Reddy, Ch. R.V. Phaneendar, and Vemula Bhaskar; Deputy Superintendent of Police Mada Dayananda Reddy, Head Constables Syed Abdul Kareem, Mohd. Mujeeb, and Syed Sarwar Pasha; Constables Md. Taj Pasha, S. Rajavardhan Reddy, Md. Musharaf Baba, N. Anil Kumar, Vemdadi Ramesh, Konatham Madhusudhan, Thodeti Shiva Koteshwar Rao, Muthineni Srinu , Janaki Ram, Golanakonda Narender, and Md. Quadeer; Reserve Sub-Inspector Gangani Satyanarayana, and Assistant Sub-Inspector Soni Lal Amrit.
