Traffic Restrictions For Ganesh Immersion Day

Traffic restrictions and diversions will be in place on Thursday from 9am till 8am on Friday - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: To facilitate smooth Ganesh immersion procession Hyderabad Police Commissioner M Mahendar Reddy said on Tuesday that entire Necklace Road and surrounding areas leading up to parts of Secunderabad and other parts of city will be locked down.

Traffic restrictions and diversions will be in place on Thursday from 9am till 8am on Friday.

Procession Routes:

The main procession starts from Keshavagiri and passes through Aliabad, Nagulchinta, Charminar, Madina, Afzalgunj, MJ Market, Abids, Basheerbagh, Liberty, Tank Bund, NTR Marg.

Meanwhile, the procession from Secunderabad area passes through RP Road MG Road Karbala Maidan ­ Kawadiguda Musheerabad X Roads RTC X Roads Narayanaguda X Roads Himayathnagar `Y’ Junction and joins the main procession at Liberty.

Another stream of procession that comes from Uppal, Ramanthapur, Amberpet, NCC gate of OU, Durga Bai Deshmukh Hospital will join the Secunderabad procession at RTC X Roads.

The idols from Shahinayatgunj, Goshamahal will join the main procession at MJ Market, while idols from Banjara Hills, Panjagutta, Mehdipatnam will join the procession at the Secretariat.

Facility to cross from the west to east or vice versa is given at the Basheerbagh Junction only. Commuters are advised to use the Ring Road and Begumpet area to avoid diversions. The main traffic diversions points are :

Hyderabad South: Keshavagiri, Mahbubnagar crossroads, Enginebowli, Nagulchinta, Himmatpura, Haribowli, Asra Hospital, Mogulpura, Lakkad Kote, Madina crossroads, MJ Bridge, Darul Shifa crossroads, City College.

Hyderabad North (Secunderabad): Traffic will not be allowed to enter the Necklace Road and Upper Tank Bund from Karbala Maidan, Buddha Bhavan, Sailing Club and Nallagutta Junction.

The vehicles will be diverted at the following points from 6 am on Thursday to 8 am on Friday: CTO, YMCA, Paradise X Roads, Patny X Roads, Bata X Roads, Adavaiah X Roads, Ghansmandi X Roads.

Hyderabad East: Chanchalguda Jail crossroads, Moosarambagh, Chaderghat Bridge, Salar Jung Bridge (Shivaji Bridge), Afzalgunj, Putlibowli crossroads, Troop Bazaar, Jambagh crossroads, Andhra Bank Koti.

Hyderabad West: Tope Khana Mosque, Alaska Hotel Junction, Osmangunj, Sankerbagh, Ajanta Gate near Exhibition Grounds, Abkari Lane, Taj Island, Barthan Bazaar, AR Petrol Pump.

Hyderabad Central: Chapel Road Entry, Gadwal Centre at the GPO, Shalimar Theatre, Gunfoundry, Skyline Road Entry, Bharath Scouts and Guides Junction in Domalguda, Kalanjali at Control Room, Liberty Junction, MCH Office Y junction, BRK Bhavan junction near Telugu Thalli Junction, Iqbal Minar, Ravindra Bharathi, Dwaraka Hotel Junction, Khairatabad Junction (Visweswaraiah Statue), Children’s Park, Viceroy Hotel junction, Kavadiguda Junction, Musheeerabad X road, RTC X road, Katta Maisamma Temple at Lower Tank Bund, Indira Park Junction.

RTC Bus Services:
RTC buses will not be allowed beyond the following junctions towards Hussainsagar when the procession is in full swing.

Masab Tank (Mehdipatnam buses); VV Statute (Kukatpally; CTO, Plaza, SBH, Clock Tower, Chilkalguda crossroads (Secunderabad); Ramanthapur TV Station; Gaddiannaram, Chaderghat (Dilsukhnagar buses); Danamma Huts (Rajendranagar); IS Sadan (Midhani); YMCA Narayanguda (Inter City services); Tarnaka.

Airport traffic: Passengers coming from or going to the Shamshabad airport or the railway stations in the city should avoid using Necklace Road, NTR Marg, Tank Bund and the main procession route from Ambedkar Statue to Falaknuma.
