The river man and the voice behind Telangana's anthem

The river man and the voice behind Telangana's anthem - Sakshi Post

The new state of Telangana is drained by two major rivers, namely Krishna and Godavari. It then becomes apt, that a lover and chronicler of rivers has penned the new Telanagna anthem.

Ande Sri, a man whom many, who value school-based education would term illiterate, is also the brains behind the moving, soul stirring and poignant anthem,  'Jaya Jayahe Telangana Janani'.

Sri worked as a construction labour, before succumbing to the seduction of rivers. His quest to study rivers has taken him to the legendary Nile and also to the awe-inspiring Victoria falls.

In spite of the stupendous success of his song, the man of words, is not hungry for success, as he feels the song belongs to all. His song, since its first appearance at a Telangana Writers' Forum in 2003, has replaced the previously popular  ‘Maa Telugu Talliki'.
