Medak: Medak rural police have cracked the murder of Vijaya (26) from Aurangabad tanda of Hevalighanapur mandal which took place on 18th this month. Police say the murder was carried out at the behest of her husband, Devula over her extra-marital affair with another person. Police revealed that Vijaya had been raped before she was murdered. According to the police, Vijaya and Kethavat Devula got married eight years ago and had two children. Devula went to Malaysia for six months to earn his livelihood. On his return, he noticed that his wife, who had been working as a daily wage labourer developed an illicit relationship with another man. As a result of her extra-marital relationship, she began to neglect her husband and children. This angered Devula who made up his mind to get rid of his wife. He also felt his life was under threat.

Police said that Devula approached a tractor driver, Roop Singh, as also Madan and two others.

On Friday last, Roop Singh took Vijaya on his bike to a movie and while returning picked up some liquor from a wine shop. Roop Singh brought Vijaya to a desolate place near Avusulapalli at around 8.30 pm where he along with her and Madan consumed liquor. They made Vijaya drink heavily and later raped her before strangling her with her saree. Meanwhile, they were constantly in touch with Devula on the phone and kept him apprised of the developments.

According to the police, Devula told his relatives that his wife had gone missing acting as if he had nothing to do with her disappearance. The killers, who were nabbed, confessed to the crime and stated that Devula had offered to pay them Rs. 10,000 for his wife's murder.
