Hyderabad: The focus of a few IPS officers in Telangana has shifted towards Andhra Pradesh. With the YSR Congress preparing to form the government after a landslide victory in the AP Assembly Elections, it is being speculated that several IPS officers are considering to opt for Inter-cadre deputations.

Once YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is sworn in as Chief Minister, the focus will be on IPS officers' posting. In this backdrop, among the IPS officers who worked alongside late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy in the united Andhra Pradesh, some have retired while others are now, hoping to work under Chief Minister-in-waiting YS Jagan.

A number of IPS officers have recently been promoted in Telangana. But they have not yet been given postings. After the election code comes to end on May 28, the Home Ministry will decide on the change of position/responsibilities. In the meantime, six Telangana IPS officers are interested to work in Andhra Pradesh. One of them has already gone to Vijayawada and congratulated YS Jagan on his victory. On this occasion, the officer said that he wants to work in Andhra Pradesh. The AP government will come up with a decision on their appeals after the swearing-in ceremony.

It is learned that two other IPS officers from Telangana have already applied to go to central services. Among them are Civil Supplies Commissioner and DIG Akun Sabharwal and Telangana State Police Academy (TSPA) Director Santosh Mehra. After the Election Code, the state home department is also said to be in favor of the transfer and the approval will be made shortly.
