Telangana Congress Reviews Assembly Election Results

TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and CM Chandrababu Naidu - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu was not the sole reason behind the party’s loss in the recently held Assembly elections. He added, “There were a number of other factors, which came into play, if only the alliance was confirmed earlier, the outcome would have been favorable,” he said.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said, whether to continue the alliance or not is a decision to be made post meeting with Telangana Congress in charge R.C. Khuntia. A clarity on this can be expected next week, at the latest, he said.

The senior Congress leader also spoke about the votes polled in the Assembly elections and said. “Congress is approaching High Court over the counting of VVPAT slips which are being removed by the officials.”

Congress is also approaching the Central Election Commission on the matter of losing the elections with 1 % of the votes polled in Dharmapuri, Kodad, and Ibrahimpatnam. “Who is to be held responsible for the mismatch between the number of votes polled and the number of votes counted?” he demanded to know, adding; “After 4 pm, thousands of votes were cast in Mancherial. How was that possible?”

However he, refused to talk about TRS chief  K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s Federal Front. Uttam said a review of the recently held elections was going on and a preliminary report has also been submitted to the AICC.
