Hyderabad: The Municipal department has released a letter about the Municipal elections in the state. The department has started the reorganization process in the newly formed 71 municipalities. A total of 136 villages have been merged into 5 municipal corporations and 36 municipalities, reorganization has started in these municipalities.

All the concerned municipal commissioners are going to issue an open letter in the municipalities inviting advices and suggestions. They will accept suggestions from the local MPs, MLAs from 13 to 20 of December. State municipal director TK Sri Devi has issued an open letter with guidelines in this regard.

1 The proposal for wards division must be in such a way that the population is equally distributed.

2 The difference in the population should not be more than 10% among the all the wards. The division should happen according to the 2011 census.

3 Maps should be designed by using different colors representing the present and previous wards. A report must be submitted on the suggestions and advice collected to the director.

4 The process of numbering to the wards must begin from the north direction, next to east, south, and west. If natural boundaries are missing then nearest landmarks and ward numbers are to consider.

5 All the model proposals regarding the ward division should be sent to the government

6 The government will later invite advices and suggestions regarding the model submitted from 25-30 December.

Once the reorganization of municipal wards is completed then the department is going to begin the counting of the number of SC, ST, women voters in the wards. Based on this survey they are going to allocate the reservations towards. The complete schedule will be out soon.
