Telangana Govt Announces Rs 5 cr to PV Sindhu, Rs 1 cr to Gopichand

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhara Rao has announced Rs5 crore cash reward to shuttler PV Sindhu, who won silver medal at Rio Olympics. KCR has also appreciated the efforts put in by coach Gopichand, for whom a cash reward of Rs1 crore was announced.

Telangana is proud of Sindhu. We congratulate PV Sindhu and her coach Gopichand. We announce Rs5crore cash reward to Sindhu and Rs1 crore to Gopichand. If Sindhu wants to do a job, the government is ready to offer her a suitable position. I appreciate Gopichand for making several world-class sports persons such as Gutta Jwala, Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth. In recognition of Gopichand’s contributions to sports as coach, the government will offer Rs1 crore to his coaching academy

Speaking to the media here on Saturday after the Cabinet meeting, KCR said: “Telangana is proud of Sindhu. We congratulate PV Sindhu and her coach Gopichand. We announce Rs5crore cash reward to Sindhu and Rs1 crore to Gopichand. If Sindhu wants to do a job, the government is ready to offer her a suitable position. I appreciate Gopichand for making several world-class sports persons such as Gutta Jwala, Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth. In recognition of Gopichand’s contributions to sports as coach, the government will offer Rs1 crore to his coaching academy.”

TRS government has also offered Sindhu a 1,000 square yards of land in Hyderabad. KCR has wished PV Sindhu all success in the days to come. Tennis star Sania Mirza has been on winning streak. Similarly, Sindhu should also embrace success in her sports career, said KCR.

“The state government has decided to welcome Sindhu on a grand note on August 22. We are making arrangments in this regards,” said KCR.
Telangana government has also announced Rs 50 lakh cash reward to Sakhi Malik, who won bronze in women’s wrestling.
