Richter 7.1 Myanmar Earthquake Impacts India Including AP, Chennai - Sakshi Post

New Delhi: A massive earthquake measuring 7.1 on Richter scale struck Myanmar impacting several parts across India on Wednesday.The Indian tremors measuring 6.8 on the scale hit Delhi, Patna, Noida and Guwahati besides other parts in most of the northeastern states.

The quake impacted India powerfully as the epicenter was located at India-Myanmar border, according to Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

Tremors were felt in several states across India - from Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Assam, Delhi to Chennai and Andhra Pradesh.

Mild tremors were felt in parts of Srikakulam, Vishkapatnam and some coastal areas. Tremors took place twice within three minutes sending shockwaves among people who ran on to roads in panic.

However, no major damage of properties was reported from India while Myanmar reports are awaited.
