TS records 50 degrees temperature in Manuguru

Manuguru (Khammam): Day temperature of 50 degrees in the month of April is unheard of in Telangana. This however, was a reality, in Manuguru of Khamma district at 2:30 PM on Wednesday. The sweltering heat, combined with heat wave like conditions, have forced the locals to stay indoors.
High summer temperatures, markedly higher than other places in the state, are common occurrence in the coal belt such as Ramagundam of Karimnagar district and parts of Khammam where Manuguru is situated. However the mercury touching 50 degrees and that too in April is an oddity, as attested by the Met officials and locals.
Hyderabad, fortunately recorded a comparatively lower temperature of 42.7 degrees on Tuesday. The roads, especially during the high noon are deserted with most commuters preferring to stay indoors and postponing their chores to a milder time.
