CBI Arrests Abhishek Boinpally in Delhi Excise Policy Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths have arrested a Hyderabad based businessman on Monday in connection with the Delhi excise policy scam. Delhi Deputy Chief  Minister Manish Sisodia is also an accused in the alleged scam. 

Abhishek Boinpally, who was allegedly lobbying for certain liquor businessmen based in south India, was called for questioning on Sunday. The agency found him evading certain key questions and took him into custody on Sunday night, the officials said. 

He is the second person to be arrested in the alleged scam case. 

Earlier, on September 27, CBI arrested businessman Vijay nair, former CEO of event management company Only Much Louder, in relation to the scam. 

The CBI had earlier in August issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against eight ‘private’ accused in the Delhi Excise Policy case. A total of 9 ‘private’ persons had been named in the First Information Report (FIR)  filed by CBI in relation to the Delhi Excise policy case.
