IPL 2023 Epic Moment: MS Dhoni Signs Gavaskar’s Shirt During Lap Of Honour After CSK's Final Home Game

IPL 2023: A packed Chepauk stadium went berserk after batting legend Sunil Gavaskar ran up to Mahendra Singh Dhoni for a special autograph after the Chennai Super King's final home game of Indian Premier League (IPL)  2023. This epic moment took place when CSK captain MS Dhoni and the CSK team members did a special lap of honour around the Chepauk to thank the home crowd after the  League match against Kolkata Knight Riders here on Sunday. Sunil Gavaskar ran up to the two-time World Cup-winning captain for an autograph on his shirt to which MS Dhoni willingly obliged.

This was probably Dhoni's last IPL, as he was seen holding a racquet in one hand and hitting some balls into the crowd before tossing a few jerseys in that direction. The crowd went wild and the cheering was incessant though the CSK lost to KKR by six wickets.

Batting first after winning the toss, CSK could only make 144 for six. Shivam Dube top-scored with an unbeaten 48 off 34 balls at the Chepauk, while there were two wickets apiece for KKR spinners Sunil Narine (2/15) and Varun Chakravarthy (2/36). Chasing 145 for victory, KKR faced some early hiccups before reaching the target in 18.3 overs with Rinku Singh and skipper Nitish Rana making 54 and unbeaten 57 respectively.
