Toxic Pre-Release Event: Case Registered Against Malla Reddy College

The Toxic pre-release event in Hyderabad turned unfortunate after a floodlight pole arranged for the sound system fell, leaving one student with a fractured leg and four others with minor injuries. Following the incident, Petbasheerabad police registered a case against the college management, event organisers and the film unit.

According to police, the pre-release event was held at Malla Reddy College in Maisammaguda on Saturday night. Actor Yash, the film’s lead actresses and thousands of students and other attendees were present at the event.

According to Inspector Vijayavardhan, several students and youngsters climbed onto a floodlight pole arranged for the speakers. The structure reportedly lost balance and suddenly fell to the ground, causing panic among those gathered at the venue.

Among the injured was 22-year-old Bhanu Prakash, a third-year B.Tech student from Wanaparthy, who suffered a leg fracture. Another student, Akhil from Warangal district, and three auto drivers identified as Sunny, Mark and Deepak reportedly suffered minor injuries.

Doctors at Malla Reddy Hospital said the injured individuals received first aid and were later discharged.

Following the accident, Petbasheerabad police registered a case against the Malla Reddy College management, the event organisers and the Toxic film unit. Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the structure falling and are examining the safety arrangements made for the large-scale event.

The incident has raised concerns about crowd management and safety measures at film promotional events, particularly when large numbers of students and fans gather at a venue. The Toxic event had attracted a huge turnout as Yash and the film’s team interacted with the audience ahead of the movie’s release.
