Vizag will beat Hyderabad in development: CM YS Jagan

Visakhapatnam: Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy agriculture has been given high priority in Andhra Pradesh and the state has achieved 70 percent development in this sector. He made these remarks while addressing the ‘Vision Visakha’ programme being conducted by the state government here on Tuesday. 

The chief minister emphasised that Andhra Pradesh lost its previous capital Hyderabad due to the bifurcation of the state, however, the state quickly came back on its feet and started developing the port city. He added that Visakhapatnam city is being developed on par with Telangana's state capital. 

CM YS Jagan remarked that Andhra Pradesh is leading in terms of growth and production. He said ports like Mulapeta, Rayapatnam, Kakinada and Machilipatnam are playing a significant role in the development of the state.

Elaborating on the YSRCP government’s welfare schemes, the chief minister said the state government is implementing all the welfare schemes in a transparent manner and also ensuring that the social benefits reach every eligible beneficiary through the DBT mode. He added that due to various policies and initiatives, the state has seen a reduction in unemployment rates while the employment opportunities have increased in the state. He also highlighted the YSRCP government’s push to improve the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise (MSME) industries in the state.
