TIRUPATI: Due to the unprecedented summer pilgrim rush in Tirumala on the weekend, thousands of devotees are thronging the Hill temple. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Board is making arrangements for drinking water, milk, Anna Prasadam, and other facilities for pilgrims waiting in the queues.

TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy who was inspecting the arrangements and safety measures being made for devotees interacted with the media on Sunday at the temple. He appealed to devotees to come prepared to patiently wait till their turn as there were many devotees coming for Srivari darshan on the weekend.

Due to the summer holidays, devotees are coming in large numbers for the Tirumala darshan. This apart many devotees could not visit the temple for more than two years due to the COVID pandemic. TTD is making all arrangements for the devotees standing in queues, he said.  The TTD Chairman also appreciated the TTD officials and staff for their hard work and service in managing all facilities during the heavy influx of devotees, and ensuring that the devotees are not inconvenienced in the queues.

Due to the heavy pilgrim rush, Srivari Darshan is taking over 48 hours with all the queue lines and compartments brimming to their capacities. As it was possible to give Darshan to only 4500 devotees per hour, it was taking around two days. Inspecting the queue lines on Saturday evening, TTD officials were asked to step up facilities for the devotees.
