Andhra Pradesh Outpaces Telangana in GST Collection

New Delhi: GST revenue collection for November 2023 has been impressive. The Central and state governments have collected Rs 1,67,929 crore in goods and services tax (GST) last month. According to the latest figures released by the Union Finance department, Andhra Pradesh has outpaced the neighbouring state Telangana, attaining 31 percent growth till the end of November while Telangana state has registered 18 percent growth. 

Compared to last November, the revenue of Andhra Pradesh has increased from Rs 3,134 crore to Rs 4,093 crore.

"The gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue collected in the month of November, 2023 is Rs 1,67,929 crore out of which CGST is Rs 30,420 crore, SGST is Rs 38,226 crore,”  said the Ministry of Finance in a statement.

The Union Finance ministry also said that Rs 87,009 crore (including Rs 39,198 crore collected on import of goods) was collected in the form of IGST while the cess stands at Rs 12,274 crore (including Rs 1,036 crore collected on import of goods). 

The government has settled Rs 37,878 crore to CGST and Rs 31,557 crore to SGST from IGST. The GST collections have witnessed a 15 percent jump on an annual basis. This is the sixth time, the GST collections have breached the Rs 1.60 lakh crore. Maharashtra topped the list with Rs 25,585 crore while Andhra Pradesh collected Rs 4,093 crore in November. Telangana registered the GST collection of Rs 4,228 crore.
