1. Pre-Monsoon Rains In Telangana, AP Bring Respite From Heat
Pre-monsoon rains in many parts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on Monday provided some respite to people from sweltering heat wave even as Skymet Weather issued an advisory for farmers against sowing of crops for next 10-15 days in view of the sluggish progress of monsoon.
2. Respite For TV9 Ravi Prakash From Supreme Court
New Delhi: The Supreme Court directed the High Court of Telangana to admit the petition of former TV9 CEO Ravi Prakash and decide on his anticipatory bail plea on June 10. Ravi Prakash moved the apex court on Monday seeking anticipatory bail in connection with alleged irregularities that took place in TV9.
3. BJP Wave In Telangana: Ram Madhav
Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary Ram Madhav on Monday said the BJP wave has begun in Telangana and it would put a check to the regional parties in the state. He said by winning four Lok Sabha seats in Telangana, the BJP had emerged as a strong force in the state and exuded confidence that it would further strengthen in the days to come.
4. Teenager Dies Of Electrocution As Heavy Rains Lash Hyderabad
An 18-year-old boy was also reportedly electrocuted in the rains. As per the reports, the boy, the son of a police officer was walking with an umbrella in his hand on the road in SR Nagar area of Hyderabad. His umbrella is learned to have come in direct contact with an electric pole leading to his electrocution.
5. Rythu Bandhu Scheme: Rs 6,900 Cr Sanctioned For Kharif
In a major boost to farmers in Telangana, the state government on Monday sanctioned the release of Rs 6,900 crore for the implementation of Rythu Bandhu scheme in the ensuing Kharif season which begins in June. On the occasion of the Telangana Formation Day on June 2, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had announced the decision to provide financial assistance to farmers under Rythu Bandhu scheme for Kharif during his speech.
