Bengaluru Terror Attack News Fake: Cops

Bengaluru: City police has confirmed that a viral message doing rounds on WhatsApp about an impending terror attack in Bengaluru is fake.

"4 of the terrorists were spotted in Bangalore and they plan to do something worse in next 15 days, primarily in IT companies in Whitefield and bellandur. So as residents please be alert and anyone notice these guys and any info please contact the police immediately (sic)," the fowarded message read.

"Above message is not a mere forward and police has visited few apartments in Sarjapur road, Bellandur area, Bangalore and has passed the information in person...so pls don't consider above message as mere forward and request all to be alert (sic)," the message added.

Along with the message, to show that the message is credible fraudsters had also tagged police contact numbers.

Following the message, fear gripped citizens and many ringed in the DCP's office.

Police let out a Twitter message saying the forwarded message is fake and warned citizens against further circulating it.
