MLC polls: No surprises in AP, contest inevitable in Telangana - Sakshi Post

As expected, there were no surprises in the legislative council elections in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

All the four candidates who have filed nominations have been declared elected unopposed. There were four vacancies.

While Prathibha Bharathi, MA Sharif are from the TDP, Somu Veerraju is from the BJP, Govinda Reddy is a YSCRP nominee. However, the political drama is in Telangana state, where there are six seats and seven candidates. The election has become inevitable in Telangana council. While deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari, minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, Neti Vidyasagar, Bodakunta Venkateswarlu and Yadavareddy are contesting on behalf of the TRS, Akula Lalitha is from the Congress and Vem Narender Reddy is from the TDP-BJP combine. The ruling TRS’ decision to field fifth candidate has made the contest interesting.
