Heavy Rain To Lash Telangana Again From Sunday

Hyderabad: A fresh spell of heavy rainfall is likely to lash several districts of Telangana this Sunday and Monday. The Met office on Friday issued a rain alert for Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Nalgonda and Warangal districts due to an upper air cyclonic circulation Western Bay of Bengal.

If the upper air cyclonic circulation develops into depression, rains will continue for even longer, the Met alert said.

Already lakes of different sizes are full to the brim in all the districts and reservoirs are overflowing with the recent heavy rains. The rainfall recorded from September 22 to 28 was 166mm which is much beyond the general rainfall of 39.7mm. It was 318 percent excess and in Nizamabad the excess was above 800 percent. In Medak district, a rainfall of 265.3mm was recorded which was 633 percent excess.

However, Hyderabad may not be affected much during this spell.
