Girl Students Killed In Accident After Seeing Off Friend  

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, two girl students were killed after they were hit by a speeding truck at Aliyabad junction at Shameerpet. According to the police, the deceased who were identified as Veena Indira (23) and Pallavi Gupta (22) were returning after seeing off a friend who left for Nagpur.

Both of them were studying post-graduation in NICMAR campus (National Institute of Construction Management and Research) located at Shamirpet, 30 km from the city. While Veena was a native of Chennai, Pallavi was from Rajasthan.

On Friday night, both the students along with their friend one Kushal went to Kompally to send off one of their friends Chiranjeevi Mehta who was on a vacation. Kushal returned on his bike, while Veena and Pallavi were on a scooter which they had borrowed from their friend.

As they reached Aliyabad Cross Roads to take a right turn (subroad), a speeding van hit them from behind. Veena and Pallavi died on the spot with grievous injuries. Due to the impact, the scooter hit Kushal's bike. He escaped with minor injuries. A CCTV record revealed that the duo were not wearing a helmet. The scooter was registered in Kerala.
