First Telangana Bhavan Outside State in Sabarimala

First Telangana Bhavan Outside State in Sabarimala - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: The Telangana State government will soon construct a Telangana Bhavan in Nilakkal near Pamba river in Sabarimala.

An MoU to this effect was signed by Endowments minister A Indra Karan Reddy and Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy on Wednesday in Trivandrum.

The proposed Bhavan will come up on a five acre land at the confluence of Pamba river near Sabarimala. The construction will benefit Ayyappa devotees visiting Sabarimala from Telangana. To be completed by 2017, the Telangana Bhavan will feature a control room for visiting devotees from Telangana, canteen, vehicle parking space and lodging rooms. Interestingly, this is the first such building construction of an outside state in Sabarimala.

The approval of land and construction is said to be a reciprocal goodwill gesture by the Kerala government in response to the Telangana government's decision to build a Kerala Bhavan in Hyderabad. The foundation stone for the Kerala Bhavan was jointly laid by Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his Kerala counterpart Oommen Chandy in September 2015. Additionally, KCR had also sanctioned 350 double-bedroom houses for the 'poorest of the poor' Malayalis settled in Hyderabad. In February 2015, KCR had announced the allotment of one acre land for the Bhavan and Rs. 1 crore as financial assistance towards the construction of the building.
