Printing press staffer involved in Eamcet-2 paper leak?

Police registered an FIR following allegations of leak of the Medical EAMCET-2 question paper - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Is a staffer of the printing press assigned the task of printing Eamcet question paper involved in the question paper leak?

DGP Anurag Sharma ordered a preliminary inquiry by CID.

Preliminary investigation by the CID points to it. Suspicion of the scam rose when there was a huge difference in the ranks secured by five selected candidates in Eamcet-1 and Eamcet-2. In the preliminary report submitted by the CID to DGP Anurag Sharma, the needle of suspicion was pointed at the printing stage itself.

Incidentally JNTU, the organisers of Eamcet-2, assigns the printing work to the same press every year. Initiating their investigations at the printing press, CID officials state that the presence of two agents and two organisers of coaching centers with a press staffer has fueled their suspicions. However, it is not clear whether the staffer sold few questions or the entire question paper, the officials said.

Curiously, five of the students who secured high ranks and who belonged to the same Vijayawada-based coaching center disappeared five days prior to Eamcet-2. They reappeared on the day of Eamcet-2 and attended the examination. The case of the missing five students, huge differences in their Eamcet-1 and Eamcet-2 ranks and their call data records are now under the scanner of the CID.

The Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET-2) was conducted on July 9 and the results were declared on July 14. The examination was conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad. Following media reports about leak of the question paper ahead of the examination, the JNTU officials had requested the Telangana DGP Anurag Sharma to look into the issue, who on July 20 ordered a preliminary inquiry by CID.
