In a first, KGF has brought global fame to Kannada cinema thanks to the maker's visualisation and the performance of lead actors. And to say, this is just the beginning wouldn't be cliched as the director promises more in the second chapter.
KGF also had a wide release hitting some 2460 screens in India. The screen count for each language was put out by none other than trade analyst, industry tracker and film critic Taran Adarsh.

The film was off to a terrific start on Friday with occupancy for early morning shows itself being 100% in most languages. KGF collections was affected considering the fact that it faced stiff competition from other big ticket releases like Padi Padi Lecha Manasu and Antariksham in Telugu, Maari in Tamil, Zero in Hindi. #KGF Review ! A stylishly narrated tale, the film will win plaudits and reap a rich harvest at the box-office for its hard-hitting content. #Yash enacts his role to perfection.A controlled performance, the actor takes to this complex character like a fish takes to water. ???? pic.twitter.com/gpHvvxMRpe — Umair Sandhu (@sandhumerry) December 21, 2018
