Song Lands DJ In Trouble, Brahmin Community Upset At The Misuse Of Religious Hymn 

Hyderabad: The much anticipated film Duvvada Jagannadham (DJ) has got mired in controversy. The makers released a second track Gudilo Badilo Madilo Vodilo which became an instant hit with its peppy tune. But the lyrics stoked a controversy as a few lines were lifted from the religious hymn - Rudra Sutra - and the Brahmin community took objection.

In an interview to a television channel, a priest condemned the lyrics for using the Rudra stotra to describe the beauty of heroine. It sounds demeaning and hurts the sentiments of the Hindu community, he added.

When asked about the issue, the filmmaker Harish Shankar said, "I come from Brahmin community and if the lines were demeaning in any sense, I would have remove them. But the lines have been misunderstood.

The movie stars Stylish Star Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde and this is the first time the two have shared screen space. The movie will hit the screen on June 23.
