Dachepalli Madrasa Teacher Marries Minor Student, Booked
Hyderabad: A 32-year-old Madrasa teacher secretly married a 17-year-old student, following which tension prevailed as the girl's family members protested in Dachepalli in Guntur district on Friday.
Police said that a complaint was filed against the teacher stating Abdul Satter married their teenage daughter.
Meanwhile, the girl has said that she has married on her own.
The Integrated Child Development Services was called by police to look into the incident. Police said on the consent of the girl she would be sent for medical examination.
Satter's wife has opposed the marriage saying that she was not aware nor did she allow him to marry the girl.
Satter could be booked under Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006 if found guilty.
