ACB To Probe Chandrababu In Disproportionate Assets Case

Chandrababu Naidu - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: The ACB Court in Hyderabad will reinitiate its investigation into 2005 disproportionate assets case pending against Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. The latest development is a result of the Supreme Court’s recent decision to vacate the stay with regard to cases pending more than six months.

Lakshmi Parvathi, the widow of N T Rama Rao, approached the ACB Court in 2005 accusing Naidu of amassing wealth by illegal means. Naidu obtained a stay order in the case from the High Court. With the apex court’s decision to vacate all stay orders in cases pending for more than six months, Naidu’s stay order stands cancelled.

Upon receiving summons from the ACB Court, the petitioner Lakshmi Parvathi appeared before the court on Friday. The matter has now listed to be heard on May 13 to file the status report, and the ACB sleuths will initiate the probe to look into allegations against Naidu of amassing wealth by illegal means.

Meanwhile, Lakshmi Parvathi said she would keep up with her fight against Naidu until he is convicted and punished for allegedly amassing wealth by using illegal means. “Naidu is the symbol of corruption. According to his own claims in election affidavits, his wealth from one election to another. How can this be possible?” she asked.

She added that Naidu had tried every means and used every agency to mislead the investigation vis-à-vis the disproportionate assets case.
