The Retired IAS Officers Forum Of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana submitted a memorandum to the Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, ESL Narasimhan expressing anguish at the objectionable remarks of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu against the chief secretary LV Subramanyam, Government of AP and the chief electoral officer Gopalakrishna Dwivedi on April 10. The officers pointed out that a statement against the chief minister not only goes against the reputation of a brilliant officer like LV Subramanyam but goes against public interest since it challenges the legtitimate authority of the Election Commission of India. Further, such allegations damage the credibility of the highest officials in the bureaucracy in the process and harm the image of the head of the government, the petition further said.

Among the signatories to the statement are a number of former senior IAS officials, including T Gopala Rao, Vinod Kumar Agarwal, MG Gopal, IVR krishna Rao and others.
