YSRCP stages walkout over key bills

YSRCP stages walkout over key bills - Sakshi Post

Protesting against the TDP government’s plan to get nine key bills passed without any discussion in the AP legislative assembly, the Opposition YSRCP staged a walkout on Thursday. Leader of the Opposition, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy slammed the Government for not giving enough time for discussion.

“The bills were introduced on the penultimate day of the five-day session. The whole process of introducing the bill has been reduced to a farce. We wanted a longer session of at least 15 day duration so that the issues could be discussed threadbare. But, the government wanted to keep the session short to scuttle any debate on the bills,” he said. He also said that the government was trying to bulldoze the opposition.

Yet, the government introduced the bill. As a result, the YSRCP MLAs staged a walkout on the issue. Later, MLAs Roja, Kakani Govardhan Reddy and others slammed the government for its high-handed behavior.
