YSRCP Slams Beach Fest At Vizag

YSRCP MLA RK Roja - Sakshi Post

The much-touted Beach Love Festival of Andhra Pradesh Government is snowballing into a huge controversy with opposition slamming the festival as antithetical to the culture and traditions of the Indians in general and Telugus in particular.

The TDP Government planning to have Beach Love Festival from February 12 to Valentine's Day, February 14 at Vizag beach. The fete is being organised by Positive Global Services and Consultancy in collaboration with AP Government. As part of this, 9000 couples would be provided with one tent each and there would be contests, concerts by dancer Shakira and models.

However, YSRCP said this festival against the Indian culture. Party MLA RK Roja said her party would stall the festival. Party spokesperson Ambati Rambabu asked if the BJP, which speaks of Indian culture and traditions, would support the festival. He asked party AP chief and local MP K Haribabu to make his stand clear.

Responding to this, Vizag's BJP MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju said his party would never agree to the festival and said Vizag doesn't need investers who would promote bikini culture. "This is a conspiracy against Indian culture,"he said.

The TDP has not responded to this so far.
