YSR Congress Party has deeply mourned the death of Party MLA Sobha Nagi Reddy (46), who died in a city hospital while undergoing treatment for multiple injuries.

YS Vijayamma has visited the hospital and mourned the death of Sobha Nagi Reddy, the Deputy floor leader of the Party, who was critically injured in a road mishap at her native Allagadda while returning from electioneering last night. YS Vijayamma has consoled the bereaved family members. (Shobha's bodyguard explains how the accident unfolded )

Speaking about her during his 'Jana Bheri' in Guntur, YS Jagan said, "Shobha is like my sister. She accompanied me on my travels like my shadow."  

YS Jagan, YS Vijayamma and Sharmila would be attending the funeral of Sobha Nagi Reddy to be held tomorrow at her native place. The leaders have suspended the campaign for two days.

Expressing shock at the death of party leader Sobha Nagi Reddy, YSRCP Spokesperson Vasireddy Padma told reporters at the Care Hospital that the void left by her death can never be filled.

“All of us thought she would recover from the injuries sustained from the accident last night but unfortunately she passed away. It is a very sad day for us as her death left all of us in a great shock,” she said in an emotional tone.

She said party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, honourary president Y.S. Vijayamma and party leader Y.S. Sharmila suspended their election campaign schedules for two days and are returning to Hyderabad to be with the family of Sobha Nagi Reddy.” All party activities are cancelled today and tomorrow.”

Saying that the death of Sobha Nagi Reddy is a void not only for the party but also for the YSR family, Padma said party leaders and activists are left in the lurch with her death. “She is a great leader and stood as a model for all of us. We pray for her soul to rest in peace,” she said, adding that the departed leader had donated her eyes.
