Krishna: YSRCP leader and former minister Parthasarathy was arrested at Kolavennu village in Krishna district while he was on his way to attend Janmabhoomi-Ma Vooru programme on Tuesday morning.

Speaking to media persons, Parthasarathy regretted that the TDP government, which has no strength to face challenges from the opposition party, is resorting to arresting YSRCP leaders.

Leaders of the opposition party are barred from entering the venues of Janmabhoomi programmes all over the state. At several locations, YSRCP workers staged dharnas during Grama Sabha meetings in the state, which are being organised with police protection, Parthasarathy said. He recalled how the opposition leaders were given a chance to raise their voice during the YSR's regime.

Parthasarathy along with Kolavennu village Sarpanch Chandrasekhar were shifted to Kankipadu police station. It is worth recalling that on Monday, YSRCP official spokesperson Ambati Rambabu was placed under house arrested after he challenged the TDP leaders to prove that the welfare schemes are being implemented in a fair manner.
