YSRCP Gears up to Corner TDP Govt in State Assembly on Special Status Demand

Hyderabad: Issues related to employment, drought and implementation of social welfare schemes should be raised in the special session of the

Andhra Pradesh assembly besides the special category status and ‘note-for-vote’ scam, YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy

said here on Wednesday.

Addressing a meeting of YSRCP MLAs in view of the special session beginning on Thursday, YS Jagan said issues relating to

implementation of social welfare schemes for the poor must be highlighted in the assembly session. He also demanded that the assembly session

must be extended to 15 days instead of the present decision to conduct it for only three days. “Three-day session is too short a time to

discuss issues such as employment, farm loan waiver, prevailing drought conditions and sharing of river water with Telangana,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, YSRCP MLA Kona Raghupathi said the party prepared a charter of 36 issues to be raised in the assembly session.

Prominent among them is the note-for-vote scam wherein Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s voice was very evident in the audio tapes, he said.

“Naidu’s name was mentioned 33 times in the chargesheet relating to the case, yet he obtained a stay in the case,” Raghupathi said. “If he is innocent what is the need to get a stay order. The Chief Minister should resign if any forensic lab in the country proves that the voice in the audio tape is that of Chandrababu Naidu, he said.
Party MLAs Kotam Sridhar Reddy and Ramireddy Pratap Kumar Reddy were among the party legislators present at the meeting chaired by YS Jagan.
