YSRCP Demands Crop-loss Compensation 

Hyderabad: YSRCP on Monday demanded compensation on crop loss and a loan waiver for farmers. YSRCP MLA Gadikota Srikanth Reddy slammed Chandrababu Naidu for ignoring the problems of farmers in the state. Farmers have been reeling under crisis during the past two-and-a-half years, but the TDP government has done nothing, he said.

Speaking to the media here on Monday, Reddy said: "Farmers mortgaged their jewellery to finance agriculture, but ended up in doldrums. Enthused by rains in June, farmers sowed groundnut seeds, but the harvest was poor. Disgusted with crop damage, farmers are destroying their own fields. Small farmers are helpless as there's no support from the state government. YSRCP demands compensation on the crop loss for farmers. If not waiving of the loans, then at least reschedule the loans."

He further criticized Naidu for his gimmicks aimed at publicity.
