The state government has decided to form the capital in the surroundings of Vijayawada. But, there is no clarity on the exact place of formation of the capital.

As per the statement of Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu, the capital will be formed at Mangalagiri in Guntur district if the farmers there can come forward to give their lands. Otherwise, the chief minister is planning to form the capital at Nuziveedu in Krishna district.

Other names that are doing rounds as the probable capitals are Amaravati, Gannavaram, Hanuman Junction and Nandigama.

After the statement of the chief minister, the realtors in Vijayawada increased the land prices in the city by several folds.

As per the estimations of the leaders of the ruling party, the available lands at various places are like this.

1,800 acres of reserve forest lands are available in Tadepalli and Mangalagiri areas. Sixth APSP Battalion has 143 acres of land in Mangalagiri. Of it, the officials are planning to allocate 43 acres of land to the office of state Director General of Police.

Between Mangalagiri and Tenali, large amount of agricultural lands have to be acquired if the capital is finalized here.

The officials are saying that 1,200 acres of land is there for VGTM UDA. The land is not being used for any purpose at present.

There is 3,600 acres of land for endowments department near Nuziveedu and 6,000 acres of forest land is there at Katrenipadu, which is at a distance of 25 km from Nuziveedu.

There are some forest lands at Kondapalli, Ibrahimpatnam, Kanchikacharla and Nandigama areas.

About 24 government offices can be located at Medha Towers at Gannavaram. For veterinary college, there is 120 acres of land which can be used for the capital.

Near Amaravati, there is more than 6,000 acres of forest and government lands.

All these lands can easily be used for building the capital of Andhra Pradesh.
