Timeline: YSRCP fights for special status

Here is the chronology of the agitations by the YSRCP in the run-up to the Samara Deeksha at Nallapadu in Guntur.
- May 19, 2014: YS Jagan met Narendra Modi before he took over as prime minister and appealed to him to implement all the provisions of the bifurcation bill.
- June 12: YSRCP MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy demanded that the special status to AP be given for 20 years.
- December 5: The YSRCP workers organized dharnas at all district collectorates demanding special status to AP and asking Chandrababu Naidu to implement all the assurances given during the elections.
- January 31, 2015: Two-day deeksha at Tanuku by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
- February 15: YS Jagan meets Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on the issue of special status. The next day, the YSRCP MPs raise the demand in Parliament.
- March 31: YS Jagan-led MPs team meet Union Finance Minister Jaitley demanding special status.
- April 12: Demanding special status to AP, the YSRCP MPs stage a sit-in at the Gandhi Statue in the lawns of Paliament.
- April 15: YS Jagan takes out three-day Project Yatra to highlight Polavaram issue.
- June 3, 4: Two day Samara Deeksha by YS Jagan at Mangalagiri.
- June 9: YS Jagan-led YSRCP delegation meets President Pranab Mukherjee and appeals to him to expedite the process of according special status to AP.
- June 11: YSRCP delegation meets Rajnath and Jaitley again.
- August 10: Led by YS Jagan, the YSRCP takes out a rally to Parliament and gets arrested in Delhi.
- August 29: State-wide bandh on the issue of special status.
- September 1: forcing the state government of Chandrababu to pass a resolution on the issue of special status to the state.
- September 15: Yuvabheri, a student interface on the issue organized at Tirupati. YS Jagan makes a key speech at the Yuvabheri.
- September 22: Yuvabheri organized at Vizag. YS Jagan announces that he would state indefinite fast at Guntur.
