Telangana Police Appeal To Parents Against Dangerous Driving

Telangana DGP Mahendar Reddy - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Thrill has become a necessity for the youth in the city as reckless minors sneakily drive cars or ride bikes just for the craze which in turn endangers the lives of many.

While scores of incidents were reportedly on the rise in regard to underage driving, the Telangana police took up a unique initiative in 2018 to punish the parents of these kids who are involved in underage driving. The parents were sent behind bars for a day for allowing their children to drive, thus creating a solution to stop the havoc of underage driving.

While the kids are the ones who indulge in rule-breaking, parents also need to take responsibility and play a vital role in educating them regarding following traffic rules.

In a bid to create awareness amongst the city public, Telangana Police are appealing to the parents against their indulgence in dangerous driving.

In a picture shared by the Telangana DGP M Mahender Reddy on his official Twitter account, a kid is seen enjoying a dangerous ride on a scooter as his father rides on.

The DGP further urged the parents to step up as role models for the next generation.

Responding to the tweet, a lot of Twitter users were in agreement with the Telangana DGP, however, recommended strict rules and harsher punishment to avoid such incidents from being repeated in the future.
