TDP trying to foil Jagan fast: Botsa - Sakshi Post

Reaffirming that the indefinite fast of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will take off in Guntur from September 26 if the deadline of according special status is not met with, YSR Congress has said that the TDP government has been resorting to unethical practices by denying permission for the protest programme.

‘The venue was zeroed in after the state has rejected permission in public places citing various objections and the present venue is a private one, which was earlier given on hire for exhibitions and the TDP now raising objection only shows its shallowness and political considerations,’ party leader Botsa Satyanarayana told reporters on Wednesday.

While our Party leader is working for the interests and aspirations of the people of the State, the TDP Government is looking at it in a political angle and is trying to scuttle the fast, but the programme will be held as scheduled come what may.

‘We will hold TDP government responsible for any untoward incident at the venue and appeal to the people to join the fight in achieving the special status which will pave way for development.

While Chandrababu Naidu wanted to trade the special status issue with his role in the cash for vote case, it was YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who held a two-day fast, a dharna at Delhi and a state wide bandh seeking special status.

We sternly warn the State Government to keep away from petty political gimmickry and do not create any obstacles for the proposed indefinite fast and if possible mount pressure on the Centre to give an assurance on the issue before scheduled fast of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.’

The special package is not what is coming as a largesse but it is what is due to the state as per the State Reorgansation Act and special status has no substitute,’ he said adding that the programme will go ahead as schedule if the Centre fails to give any assurance before September 25.
