Spell out land acquisition norms : YSRCP - Sakshi Post

Reiterating that majority of the farmers are not willing to part with their fertile land for the capital formation, YSR Congress has said the TDP government should spell out its compensation policy and stop its propaganda that farmers are willing to give up their land voluntarily.

“Farmers should be made part of the development process and the State should announce its norms for land acquisition in clear terms. But the Capital Development Authority, set up by the Government, has been terrorizing the small and medium farmers and tenant farmers while agriculture labour are left in the lurch,” party spokesperson Ambati Rambabu told reporters in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

TDP and its friendly media has launched a campaign that farmers are willing to part with their land and opposition parties are trying to instigate the locals but the YSR Committee which toured the region for two days had seen farmers in distress and fear of losing their fertile land.

“Farmers of the Tulluru mandal told the committee members that they are scared and are in confusion as their future looks bleak with the Government not specifying the quantum of compensation. Some farmers may be willing to give their land but majority of them are against and most of them are small and medium farmers.

We will stand by them and fight for their cause until they get adequate compensation. We are not against the capital formation but are only voicing the feelings of the locals who had vented their views during the two day tour of our Committee,” he said.

The State should try to understand the sentiments of people with small holdings and agriculture labour, weavers and other artisans who will be losing their livelihood and the hi-tech chief minister has been showing scant respect to agriculture and farmers as in the past.

We demand the State should spell out its policy on land acquisition categorically and do justice to all sections failing which YSR Congress will fight their cause till justice prevails, he said.
