Peddireddy Asks Members Not To Belittle Privileges Committee

Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party's (YSRCP) deputy leader in AP Assembly Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy urged members of the Legislature not to belittle the Privileges Committee through their comments on Committee members.

In a letter addressed to Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad here on Saturday, Ramachandra Reddy who is also a member of the Assembly Privileges Committee said the Committee had issued notices to some MLAs regarding disturbances in the Assembly in the September session. While those MLAs were giving explanation for their behaviour in September, some members of the Privileges Committee itself raised objections to the questions. He alleged that the behaviour of the members was like playing judge, jury and executioner, Ramachandra Reddy said in the letter.

Taking strong exception to the interruption and the Privileges Committee itself being questioned, he urged Kodela Sivaprasad to intervene and ensure that the members do not belittle the status of the Privileges Committee through their behaviour.
