No ST MLA In Tribal Advisory Committee: YSRCP

Hyderabad: The YSR Congress has said that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been neglecting adivasis and the Tribes Advisory Council of the State Government is filled with his henchmen. He said not a single elected people's representative has been included in the committee.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, party ST Cell president and former MLA T Balaraju said: ‘the Advisory Council comprises hand-picked people and is very much like the Janmabhoomi Committees, which are meant to do the ruling party's bidding." He said while YSR had respected the Constitution by setting up the Tribal Advisory Committee, Chandrababu has watered down the committee by recruiting his henchmen.

While the state has been spending lavishly on the repairs to Chief Minister’s residence, it has no money for the welfare of tribes, he said. Even now there are many villages in the tribal areas that lack basic amenities like drinking water, power supply and others. He said the tribals were waiting to teach a fitting lesson to Chandrababu Naidu in the next elections.
