Relief for Telangana: Thunderstorms Till May 29

 - Sakshi Post

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted thunderstorms and light rainfall in the city over the next few days.

According to the latest weather forecast issued by IMD Hyderabad, light rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds are expected in Hyderabad till May 28. The anticipated rainfall is likely to reduce the impact of the ongoing heatwave conditions across Telangana.

Several districts in Telangana continued to witness extremely high temperatures on Tuesday. Data released by the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) showed that Nalgonda recorded the highest maximum temperature of 46.5 degrees Celsius.

Apart from Nalgonda, temperatures crossed the 46-degree mark in districts including Jagtial, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Kumuram Bheem, Suryapet, Nizamabad, Khammam, Mancherial, Mulugu, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, and Mahabubabad.

In Hyderabad, the highest temperature was recorded in the Charminar area at 42.5 degrees Celsius, highlighting the severe summer conditions prevailing in the city.

Weather officials believe that the expected thunderstorms and rainfall activity could provide temporary relief from the intense heat. Residents have also been advised to plan their travel carefully as sudden showers and gusty winds may affect traffic and outdoor activities in parts of Hyderabad.

The changing weather conditions are expected to bring down temperatures slightly, offering much-needed respite to people struggling with the ongoing summer heat across Telangana.
