Telangana CM KCR To Decide On Lockdown In Tomorrow Cabinet Meet

The Telangana Cabinet will be holding a meeting on June 8th at 2 pm to decide whether the government should continue the lockdown in the state to control the spread of COVID-19 or not. The state cabinet is likely to discuss various issues like medical, health and the economic situation in the state.

According to an official release, "The state cabinet will meet under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sri K Chandrashekhar Rao on June 8 at 2 PM. The state cabinet is likely to discuss the situation in the state amidst the Corona, medical and health, agriculture operations, the economic situation in the state due to lockdown, etc."

Telangana is currently witnessing lockdown with certain relaxations till June 9. Instead of 6 am to 10 am, the state government also decided to increase the relaxation timing up to 6 am to 1 pm.  

The cabinet may also review works related to many irrigation projects, measures to be taken, availability of water for irrigation during the monsoon, etc. The cabinet may also discuss the financial aid being given under Rythu Bandhu.

In the meeting, KCR may also discuss the measures to be taken to deal with the third wave of COVID-19. On the other hand, the Chief Minister has decided that the diagnostic centres to be launched from June 7 in 19 district headquarters will now be launched on June 9.

Telangana reported a total of 1,436 new infections on Sunday, the lowest single day spike in two months. The total number of cases crossed 5.91 lakh. There are 27,016 active cases and more than 97,000 were tested. The state continued to witness a downward trend in the number of coronavirus cases being reported.
