Urdu Teachers Association Backs TRS MLC Candidates in Graduate MLC Polls

Hyderabad: Vani Surabhi Devi, daughter of former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao, has made her debut in politics in her 70s after the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader K. Chandrasekhar Rao named her as a candidate in the MLC elections for the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad Graduates’ constituency in Telangana.

She was named a TRS candidate at the last minute. The choice comes in the backdrop of attempts by the TRS government to claim the legacy of P.V. Narasimha Rao by announcing his year-long centenary celebrations and passing a resolution in the state assembly urging the Centre to honor the Telangana’s “muddu bidda” with the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award.

Urdu Teachers Association Telangana State (UTA - TS) supported the TRS party in the graduate MLC elections.

Urdu teachers to extend their support for TRS MLC candidates Vanidevi and Palla Rajeshwar Reddy for the upcoming MLC elections.

State President and General Secretary of the Association provided a letter of support to MLC Kavitha in Hyderabad.

Earlier Finance Minister Harish Rao also requested woman voters to support TRS candidate S Vani Devi for the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahbubnagar Graduate MLC seat. She is the only woman candidate in the fray for the upcoming elections, he said.

Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy also held a meeting with regard to MLC elections in Tandur and appealed to the graduates to vote for TRS MLC candidate Surabhi Vani Devi. Local legislator Devireddy Sudheer Reddy also sought support for Surabhi Vani Devi.
