IPL 2021: Here's Why David Warner Was Absent From SRH Vs RR Match

 - Sakshi Post

SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) broke their five-match losing streak in Dubai, defeating Rajasthan Royals (RR) by seven wickets on Monday. In a major decision taken by the club management, David Warner was not in the playing XI for yesterday's match. The Australian, who was removed from the leadership earlier this year, hasn't been in the greatest of form in the IPL 2021, and Kane Williamson has taken over as captain. Fans were left surprised by Warner's absence in the RR match.

"We have a lot of young players here, so we decided to make a few changes in the lineup for this match. But to give some of the other young players who haven't got the chance to come along and experience the game, "Head coach Trevor Bayliss said.

"We have a lot of people who have remained at the hotel and haven't even been to the ground. So we want to offer those young men as much experience as possible, "he explained.

Throughout the game, Warner posted multiple Instagram Stories that showed him watching the game and cheering on his teammates from the hotel.

SRH presently sits at the bottom of the league standings with four points from ten games and will play the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their next match on Thursday.
