Unlock India: These Indian States to Remove Lockdown From Today

As the situation for the past couple of months was very concerning in India, many states opted for a lockdown. There was at least a month’s or 20 days lockdown in place. These states saw a dip in Covid19 cases and decided to lift the restrictions slowly.

The state governments have announced that ceratin restrictions will be lifted as of Wednesday. Complete leisure might lead to an increase in cases once again, so the state governments are being careful about this and going slowly.

After crossing the 2 to 3 lakh mark in the daily cases, India finally started seeing a fall. The cases slowly went down and were less than 2 lakh on certain days in May and now it has gone down 1 lakh. On Tuesday, the country reported a total of 60,471 new Covid19 cases. This is the lowest number in almost two and a half months. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), India now stands at 29,570,881 total cases and 377,031 casualties.

Here are all the Indian states that have relaxed the restrictions:

West Bengal – According to the new set of rules, the restrictions in Bengal will be eased. Public places like restaurants and cafes will be allowed to operate at 50 per cent capacity from 12 pm to 8 pm. The curfew time starts after that.

Assam – The state government has relaxed most of the restrictions. It will not be a full lockdown but certain restrictions will be in place. The relaxation time will be from 5 am to 5 pm. This will stay in effect from June 16 to June 22.

Bihar – Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has confirmed that starting from June 16, the restrictions will start to ease. There will be a curfew in place but the timings will be a bit relaxed. The curfew will be from 8 pm to 5 am.

Telangana – Even the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is going in a phased manner. A curfew is in place in the state from 6 pm to 6 am. During the relaxation time, all the shops, restaurants and other public places can function while following the capacity rules.

Punjab – Most of the states have put a restriction on the functioning of public places like theatres, malls and restaurants. Now Punjab government has announced that the public places can operate but only at 50 per cent capacity.

Other Indian states and Union territories as well are slowly easing the Covid restrictions. As the vaccination drive is going at a good pace and the cases are also seeing a fall, these states are lifting the curbs in a phased manner.
