Mithra Mandali Releasing on October 16: Producers Share Insights on Their Creative Journey
Starring Priyadarshi and Niharika NM in lead roles, the upcoming entertainer Mithra Mandali is directed by Vijayender, presented by Bunny Vas, and produced by Kalyan Manthina, Bhanu Pratap, and Dr. Vijeyender Reddy Theegala under their new production banner. The film is slated for a grand theatrical release on October 16, and ahead of its premiere, the producers shared their experiences and memories from the making of the film in an interaction with the media.
The Journey of ‘Mithra Mandali’
“Bunny Vas is a close friend of ours, and we’ve collaborated with him for a long time at Geetha Arts on films like Kotabommali PS, Aay, Thandel, and Single,” the producers recalled. “He had been traveling with this story for many years and wanted us to listen to it. We instantly loved the concept.”
Kalyan Manthina, who primarily manages multiple business ventures, and Bhanu Pratap were in the process of launching a production house when they came across this script. “The story had us hooked immediately — it’s packed with non-stop entertainment from start to finish. Mithra Mandali is our debut film, and we’re also working on two more projects simultaneously. We owe this one to Vas garu for believing in us,” they shared.
On the Director and Scripting Process
Praising debutant director Vijayender, the producers said, “He’s an exceptional filmmaker with experience working alongside directors like Anudeep, Mad Kalyan, and Aditya Hasan. He came to us with a complete script, and the way he executed it was just as brilliant as the way he wrote it. It never felt like a debut effort.”
They added, “We started a writers’ room before this project, from which stories like Aay and Thandel were born. That’s why we’ve been co-producers for those films as well. We stay involved in the scripting process until it reaches a level we’re fully satisfied with.”
Active Involvement as Producers
“As producers, we stay actively involved in every creative step,” they explained. “We constantly brainstorm ideas, discuss creative directions, and make collective decisions. Naturally, there are differences sometimes, but our ultimate goal is to make the best film possible.”
On Brahmanandam’s Role
“Brahmanandam garu’s role is one of the highlights of Mithra Mandali,” they revealed. “The ‘Jambar Gimbar Lala’ song wasn’t part of the original plan. After wrapping up the film, we felt something was missing, so we decided to add this fun sequence. Brahmanandam garu loved the lyrics and enjoyed the shoot immensely — it added the perfect comic touch.”
On Priyadarshi and Niharika’s Characters
The film is set in a fictional town called Jangli Pattanam, created by director Vijayender. “The quirky characters and their situations are highly entertaining and relatable, especially for young audiences,” the producers said. “Niharika plays a witty, satirical character — a role that suits her perfectly. When Allu Aravind garu saw her for the part, he instantly approved.”
Releasing Amid Diwali Competition
Acknowledging the festive rush, the team remains confident. “The Diwali season always brings multiple big releases, but audiences have consistently supported good content. We believe Mithra Mandali will stand out as a wholesome entertainer this festive season,” they stated.
Future Projects
Looking ahead, the producers revealed plans to explore diverse genres. “After this comedy entertainer, our next project will be a horror film. Regardless of scale — big or small — our focus will always remain on strong, story-driven content.”
